Printed Photo Books Give You a Sense of Your Work
Sometimes it’s hard to just look at our own work and see the same value in it that others do. This is the case for every photographer - the casual camera user who snaps a few photos of monuments while they’re on vacation to those of us with multiple cameras, multiple lenses, editing software and the tools needed to keep business running smoothly.
The only way to get past the whole “my work isn’t that great” or “I haven’t progressed much with the work I’ve done lately,” or “I’m not sure how much good this new lens is doing for me,” is to have a way of getting a feel for your work. Printed photo books let you showcase your work and see what’s going on.
Let’s say you take the same photo with each of three lenses or with three different cameras. Having those photos next to one another in a printed photo book can help you to determine which camera was really best for the job - and then you’ll be able to use it under similar circumstances in the future.
Or, if you take a wide variety of photos, you can get a feel for all that you do. If you’ve been working on a series casually for years, a printed photo book can collect all of the images and show the progress that you’ve made.
