Printed Photo Books Can Bring Cookbooks to Life
Cookbooks: more are published every day, and while it may seem hard to believe, the public seems to always be hungry for more (pun intended).
You may not be a cook, but if you’re a food photographer, it’s possible for you to use printed photo books to create cookbooks that folks will be lining up to buy.
Chefs who create recipes - whether they focus on fine dining, fast and family-friendly meals or even baked goods - often want to share their creations with the world. The problem is that they need someone who can help them out - they need you to photograph their creations and turn them into a printed book.
After all, chefs aren’t going to know that, if a dessert calls for whipped cream, it’s easier to capture the shot if shaving cream is used. They aren’t going to know all of the tricks that food photographers use to capture bubbles that rest at the top of a cup of coffee, or other food styling tools that you have at your disposal.
When you’re familiar with using printed photo books - you understand laying out text and images - you’re a step ahead of the curve. Use your skills (and the photo books you already have) to market the services that you have, then help chefs to self-publish their own cookbooks.
