Printed Photo Books: Working on Social Projects

For a number of photographers, there is an underlying desire to do more with their work than merely to create images that resonate with others - a desire, too, to do more than just sell their work. With printed photo books, those photographers who are socially motivated are going to find that it’s possible to make a connection with those around them - including others who are passionate about a cause.

Here are just a couple of examples of ways in which printed photo books could be used to gain awareness for a cause:

  • If there are problems with homelessness in your community, printed photo books will allow you to use images, statistics and other information to support those who are provide services - running shelters, offering meals.
  • If there is a restoration project for a historic building that will be taking place in your area provided funding can be raised, you will find that collecting text, old images of the building along with shots that you take depicting its current state in a printed photo book can be a spectacular fundraiser (and that you’re able to create an updated volume after the work has been done).

No matter what social causes you are passionate about, you’ll find that printed photo books can create a way in which you can get involved and have a positive impact.
