Your Model Portfolio – Outside Is Just as Important as Inside

You are a modeling professional who over the years has compiled the perfect shots which you need to incorporate into a professional, complete and impressive model portfolio.

Consider a photo book in order to showcase your work. The entire package of your portfolio (inside and out) is the single most important step you’ll take other than promotion so it’s best to get it right!

Your model portfolio book will be made up of a book with anywhere between 10 and 25 photos normally consisting of 9×12 prints. The portfolio itself should have a good selection of different looks including indoor, outdoor, and studio settings.

Also include shots which may be considered commercial, fashion, casual, and editorial content. Ask the photographer to help you with choosing looks that best fit your personality and the type modeling you wish to pursue.

After the shots have been perfected and they are ready to be showcased, how do you pick the right photo book, one that suits the industry, and your personality? You don’t want to present a bunch of loose photos, or pictures in a regular run of the mill album, consider a professional grade, well organized and printed photo book. The photo books come in a variety of styles and colors, with leather embossed or satin covers, you can create a photo book that speaks volumes. In this instance, what’s outside (and of course inside) does matter.

Got Skills? Go Ahead Show Off With Printed Photo Books

Deep down, every photographer no matter what the specialty wants to show off their shots. Whether your specialty is weddings, portraits, still life, or whether you are a professional or photography is just a hobby, it’s not so much seeking validation really as it is wanting to share, but having the work appreciated does have its perks.

This probably has a lot to do with why so many people used to come home from a trip with vacation slideshows. It became cliche really: if a photographer was going on a family vacation, his or her friends knew that upon return from their trip, they were going to be shown a slideshow that was meant to make them feel just like they’d been there. It never really worked that way and always just came off that the photographer was showing off.

Fortunately for today’s photographers there’s a better way to show off: printed photo books.

With photo books, you can create a more engaging story with the shots you took during your vacation. You can add text, place photos on and angle and even include shots that you’ve digitally manipulated – cropping them so that the other tourist who walked in front of you whose head filled the bottom corner wasn’t an issue anymore.

Even better, you won’t have to worry about the direction of the slides and everyone shifting their heads to see the sideways vertical shot. Printed photo books are just a far better way to show off. If you are a professional photographer, or a amateur who has found their niche in photography, be proud and show off your talents in a well crafted, creatively designed photo book!
